The art of Pietra Dura
This is an image of me during my training in Florence, where I studied the art of Pietra Dura , a refined mosaic technique using semi-precious stones. Under the guidance of master artisans, I developed skills in stone selection, inlay, and precision cutting using traditional Florentine methods. This discipline continues to inform my practice today.

Bringing Traditions Together
Kingfisher Mosaic – A Contemporary Fusion
This piece represents my latest direction: blending the disciplines I’ve studied from Pietra Dura and Byzantine tesserae to Roman textures and natural materials. The kingfisher is made with lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, and bark, combining precision stonework with organic elements. It’s my way of honouring tradition while creating something entirely my own.
